Ever since I first saw them in museums, I've loved the mix of sculptural and emotional qualities expressed by Tang dynasty horses: their big rumps, small heads, and expressive energy.
Almost all the ones that survive from this time are glazed ceramic.
This is my take as a woodcarver.
