Contact Chris Pye
A request from Chris, on emailing…
Unfortunately, I've long ago passed the
fail-safe point, halfway between the hundreds of emails I receive
which genuinely deserve a reply…and those precious few I can find
the time for. The fact is, every minute at the keyboard is five
minutes away from the carving bench.
Please understand. As much as I wish I could teach through
emailing, I simply haven't the time. And trust me (and my years of
experience at giving it a go): email is not the proper medium for
learning to carve. Thus in March 2011 I will be launching
Woodcarving Workshops.tv - an instructional, video-rich website. I
think its a way to reach and teach a broader base of carvers,
through a medium that brings us as close as we can ever hope to
come to being side-by-side at the bench.
So, here's the good news: I'll make every effort to reply, as
time permits, if you email about possible carving commissions, you
have comments about the website, or if you're interested in
tutorials or my teaching schedule… that sort of thing.
But if you're inclined to ask specific questions related to
woodcarving skills, my instructional materials, a new subject area
you would like to see us pursue, say, I encourage you not to email.
Instead, have a look at my books, DVDs and newsletters - and soon,
the Woodcarving Workshops.tv lessons. These products are
specifically designed, and eagerly hell-bent, on covering what you
need to know.
