Why a snail?
This was me, overriding the client: I just love their mix of hardness and softness, strength and vulnerability; mathematical shell and alien body.

I try to sneak them into carvings when I can and, like the mouse, I could fit one tidily into this corner ...
The body is about an 1 1/2in. (35mm) long
