King's Head in Oak
Height: 15in (381mm), width & depth: 12in (300mm).
Finished in beeswax with coffee stain and linseed oil to the hair.
This is an archetype EveryKing.
The carving refers to Alfred and Edward I for example, and includes both mythological Arthur and something of Jesus.
The split down the cheek arose when I used this piece as a carving demonstration in Finland and it never recovered from the zero humidity of -25°C.
Although I was aghast at the split at the time, I now think it adds a lot of character to the piece and is part of it's 'history'.
