Herefordshire Country House Corbels

This is the larger of the corbels, in Oak. Maximum width 9" (200mm)
Here you see them lying on their ends with the 'tops' against the wall - effectively giving a view from beneath in situ.
There are extra volutes and leaves below the main block: these are carved separately and fixed in place at the back with batons let into the wood about 1" (25mm) and arranged in V. The batons effectively act as a dovetail to lock the parts together.
