However, I am sure you will understand that I am very busy, run this website entirely for free, and more and more have to protect what little spare time I have.

Carving Questions: I get many emails about woodcarving where the answer easily lies in a little personal effort: reading my books; hunting around this website or the web generally; reading carving magazines, or books; finding a local carver; asking other carvers in forums and so on.
Please seek your answer in these areas first, rather than keying off a quick email to me. I'm afaid I am now unable to spend time replying to email questions in which the answer can readily be found elsewhere.

Other matters: Where I am able and willing to reply, I'm not always as prompt as might be wished and mostly reply briefly. I do apologise for what might appear rudeness. I will have had your email and ask you please to bear with me.
